Main goal

The main goal of the LASTING project is the development of new methods for large scale and accurate inspection and monitoring of infrastructures. These methods allow updating the structural safety level and prediction of performance under changing conditions. A large scale remote monitoring system that allows prioritizing the structural evaluation of critical or vulnerable structures such as bridges, combined with advanced numerical modelling strategies for reliability index calculation represents the main scientific objective of LASTING project. The second goal of the project focuses on strategies to demonstrate and disseminate the project results to the target users in transport infrastructure: owners, managers, and maintenance operators.
